About

Janine Pereira de Almeida

Clinical Hypnotherapist, Supervisor, Speaker, Author and Family Office Executive.

Janine brings together a deep understanding of human behaviour with years of experience in entrepreneurship, business leadership and investment. As a therapist, board and advisory member, she works with individuals, founders and professionals to understand the patterns that shape how they relate, decide, lead and respond to pressure.

She believes people rarely struggle because they lack intelligence, ambition or information. More often, they are held by emotional patterns, unconscious beliefs and protective strategies that still operate beneath the surface.

A Therapeutic Perspective

I do not believe in perfect therapists. I believe in therapists who remain curious, humble and committed to their own growth.

We can only guide others through places we have been willing to explore ourselves. That is why my own therapeutic work, regular supervision and continuous development remain essential to my practice. It is a commitment I make to everyone who places their trust in me.

I help people understand the deeper emotional patterns that shape how they think, feel, relate and experience life.

My approach integrates clinical hypnotherapy, neuroscience, character structure, systemic understanding and body-based observation. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, I look for the story behind them: the emotional patterns, unconscious beliefs and protective strategies that were once necessary, but may no longer serve the person they were created to protect.

Therapy is not about giving answers. It is about creating the conditions in which people can find their own.

Like a lighthouse, my role is not to tell someone where to go, but to illuminate what has been hidden, reveal what has been overlooked and help them move forward with greater awareness, freedom and confidence.

Where Therapy Meets Leadership

My understanding of people has not been shaped by therapeutic practice alone.

I have been involved in business since the age of eighteen and today help lead our family office, working alongside founders, investors, entrepreneurs and senior decision-makers across industries and countries. In board and advisory roles, I am asked to evaluate not only businesses, strategies and opportunities, but also the people behind them.

This has taught me something investors know well: a business can rarely grow beyond the capacity of the person leading it.

Behind every strategy is a human being. Behind every decision are beliefs, fears, ambitions, loyalties and unconscious patterns. The ability to build, lead, negotiate, take risks, manage conflict and remain steady under pressure is deeply connected to a person’s internal structure.

This is where my two worlds meet.

My therapeutic background lets me see the person behind the professional role. My business experience lets me understand the real pressures of leadership, responsibility, investment and entrepreneurship. I know what it means to make decisions that affect companies, families, employees, partners and capital. I also know that professional challenges are rarely only professional.

That is why my work with founders, leaders and professionals is never based on abstract theory alone. It is grounded in an understanding of both the inner world and the realities of business.

A Lifelong Education in Human Nature

My work has been influenced by many teachers, disciplines and experiences.

Clinical hypnotherapy gave me a way to access the unconscious beliefs and emotional associations that often lie beyond rational thought. Neuroscience deepened my understanding of how the brain learns, adapts and protects us. Character structure taught me to recognise how early experiences shape the body, relationships, behaviour and the way a person moves through the world.

Systemic work taught me that no one exists in isolation. We are shaped by families, histories, relationships and loyalties that often began long before we were aware of them.

My studies have been particularly influenced by Marisa Peer, Dr Fernando Freitas, Wilhelm Reich, Alexander Lowen, Carl Jung and contemporary developments in neuroscience and behavioural understanding. I continue to study, question and integrate new perspectives, not to collect methods, but to become more precise, responsible and useful in my work.

Some of my most important teachers, however, have not been found in classrooms.

Horses have been part of my life for almost four decades. They taught me to observe what is communicated without words, to recognise the difference between control and leadership, and to understand that trust cannot be demanded.

A horse responds to congruence. It notices the distance between what a person presents and what they truly feel. It teaches presence, boundaries, sensitivity and emotional regulation with an honesty that cannot be negotiated.

That education continues to influence how I listen, observe and work with people today.

The Person Behind the Pattern

I believe that symptoms, behaviours and repeated difficulties often make sense once we understand where they began.

What looks like self-sabotage may once have been protection. What looks like avoidance may have been the safest available response. What is felt as weakness may have developed as an intelligent adaptation to circumstances that no longer exist.

My role is not to judge these patterns or to remove them by force. It is to help a person understand why they were created, recognise the purpose they once served and develop new ways of responding that are more aligned with the life they wish to live now.

Whether I am working with an individual, a therapist, a founder or a leadership team, I keep returning to the same question: What becomes possible when a person can finally see clearly what has been shaping them from beneath the surface?
